Have you finished your doula training but are having doubts or anxiety about getting started? Are you having difficulty finding clients/families that would benefit from your support? The Relief Doula Agency Mentorship Program will help you to gain confidence, learn techniques, and build your professional community!
Since 2018, our agency has helped passionate people become successful professional doulas! Our goal is to guide doulas from their formal training program through their early family-support experiences into their work as confident doulas.
This is not a training, workshop, or certifying program; this is a 3-month mentorship program with the opportunity to join our thriving doula agency after mentorship.
Our Mentorship Program provides families with financially feasible doula care while offering hands-on client support opportunities for new doulas under the guidance and encouragement of experienced birth and postpartum doulas.

3-Month Mentorship Program
Assigned Mentor with each referred client - Each time you are referred a client you will also be assigned a mentor doula to attend prenatal visits with you. Your mentor doula will be available before/after your prenatal to answer any questions and help you prepare for your solo visits. This mentor doula will be with you every step of the way during the prenatal period.
On-Call phone support during births – While we can’t be with you at every birth, we are with you as a resource by phone! We understand doulas have times of uncertainty, worry and doubt, especially while attending those first few births. As a mentorship program doula, you will have the opportunity to contact your mentor at any point during your contract with the client, and during labor, for additional support, tips and strategies.
Support during postpartum visits - We understand doulas have times of uncertainty, worry and doubt, especially while providing care for those first postpartum family experiences. As a mentorship program doula, you will have the opportunity to contact your mentor at any point during your contract with the client for additional support, tips and strategies.
Back-up doula security – Things happen and as experienced doulas, working with a network of other doulas, we understand the comfort having a backup doula can provide. Assigned mentoring doulas will act as backup in the case of illness, emergency or overlapping birth.
Education, resources and opportunities to meet potential clients - Acting as a lead doula and supporting clients is a very import part of our mentorship program. While we cannot guarantee how many births / postpartum care experiences a doula may have during the mentorship program due to the natural ebb and flow of birth work, we do provide our program mentorship doulas with opportunities to sit in on classes, workshops, support groups and attendance at all of our “Meet and Mingle” events. Mentorship doulas will also have access to our carefully curated bank of local and informational resources. Additionally, our mentorship program doulas will be listed on our Relief Doula Agency website to showcase their picture and bio.
Monthly sessions with some of our Doula Mentors – These virtual group sessions are a great opportunity to get questions answered and work through any concerns or self-doubt. Sessions also provide a great community to network, learn from other doula experiences and talk about birth experiences.
Exclusive access to the Relief Doula Mentorship Community group chat – Our exclusive group chat provides a safe place in for our mentorship program doulas and agency doulas to post questions, share information and ideas from our community of birth professionals.
Letter of Recommendation or Letter of Completion - Many certifying institutions require doulas receive at least 2 letters of recommendation from a professional in the community. When merited, we would be happy to provide you with a letter of recommendation within 30 days of completing the 3-month Mentorship Program.
